Draft — not legally reviewed

Written by the development team, not an attorney. Do not present as final or legally binding, and do not publish without qualified legal review — privacy law (GDPR, CCPA, and similar) varies by jurisdiction and has specific mandatory disclosure requirements this draft does not attempt to fully enumerate. See LEGAL_REVIEW_REQUIRED.md in the project source for the full review checklist.

Summary

Pluto's Tweaker, as shipped in this release, does not collect, transmit, or upload any personal data, telemetry, or usage statistics. It makes no network call of any kind except an optional, off-by-default update check you can enable in Settings — and no update endpoint is even configured in this build, so today that check has nothing to contact.

What is stored, and where

Everything Pluto's Tweaker records stays on your own computer, under your Windows user profile (%LocalAppData%\PlutosTweaker\):

  • Backups of the original value of anything you change, so it can be restored.
  • History of tweaks applied/reverted (timestamp, tweak name, outcome — no personal data).
  • Logs of application activity, for troubleshooting.
  • License file, if you have imported one, and trial-start timestamp.
  • Preferences (language, theme/navigation state, update-channel choice, interface sound toggle).

None of this is transmitted anywhere by the application. Exports (Export Redacted Log, Export Support Bundle) are files you explicitly save to a location you choose — the application never uploads them on your behalf, and each is redacted (Windows username and full user-profile path removed) before being written.

Purchase and license data (Lemon Squeezy)

When you buy the Founder's Launch License, your payment is processed entirely by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record — Pluto's Tweaker and Ott's Tech Customs never see or store your card details. Lemon Squeezy handles your order, receipt, and license-key delivery under its own privacy policy; only a purchase record and license-activation state (never a hardware serial or MAC address) are used to operate licensing and support a refund window.

If an optional online service is added in the future

Should a future version add an optional online service (for example, account-based licensing or cloud sync), it will be opt-in, disclosed in that version's release notes, and covered by an updated version of this policy before it ships — never enabled silently in a routine update.

Children's privacy

This software is not directed at children and knowingly collects no data from anyone, so no age-specific data-handling applies. Legal counsel should confirm whether a statement here is required for your target markets regardless.

Your rights

Because no personal data is collected or stored outside your own machine (beyond what Lemon Squeezy holds for the purchase itself), there is little remote personal data for Ott's Tech Customs to access, correct, or delete on your behalf — most of it is already local and under your control (see the in-app "Remove Pluto's Tweaker Data" tool for full local-data removal). Legal counsel should confirm whether a formal rights-request process is still required to state here for your target markets.

Changes to this policy

Any future version that changes what is collected or transmitted will ship an updated version of this document alongside that change, not retroactively.
